In Deep by Andy Aledort
OBLIQUE WORKOUT, PART 3
In the previous two columns, Andy Aledort explored a variety of oblique bending techniques — combining the use of bent and unbent strings, played either together or in succession. The technique is usually applied to two- or three-note figures, with a note on one string bent and the note(s) on the other string(s) fretted normally. Most often, oblique bends are performed on the B and G strings or the high E and B, such as when executing a unison bend, for which a lower note is bent up to match the pitch of an unbent note on the next higher string.
